By visiting and using reeldown ("the Service," "the site," "we," or "us"), you're agreeing to the terms on this page. Think of it as a friendly handshake — you use the tool, and in return you follow a few common-sense rules.

reeldown is a free, web-based tool that helps you save publicly accessible videos, photos, and audio from supported platforms by pasting a link. No account, no software install, no fee.

What we are: a technical helper that locates the public download address of a file and passes it to your browser.

What we are NOT: a host, a library, or a storage service. We do not upload, store permanently, host, or redistribute any content. The file you download travels directly from the original platform to your device — it never lives on our servers.

This is the most important rule, so please read it carefully.

reeldown is intended only for personal, private, and non-commercial use. Good examples include saving a clip for offline viewing, backing up media you created yourself, keeping something you have the rights to, or using a short excerpt for study, commentary, or research where the law allows it.

You may not use reeldown to download content for resale, public broadcast, commercial republishing, or any money-making activity, unless you personally own the rights to that content or have the creator's clear permission.

Behind every video is a person who made it, and we believe in respecting their work.

reeldown is just a tool — like a web browser or a pair of scissors. You, the user, are solely responsible for what you download and how you use it.

• All downloaded content remains the property of its original copyright owner.
• You must respect the copyright, licensing, and terms of service of the platform the content came from.
• In many countries, downloading copyrighted material without permission is against the law. It's on you to know and follow the rules in your own region.

reeldown does not claim ownership of any third-party content and accepts no liability for how users choose to use it.

To keep reeldown safe and available for everyone, you agree NOT to:

• Download copyrighted content for redistribution, resale, or public performance without authorization
• Download private, paid, or access-controlled content you are not entitled to access
• Use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, abusive, or deceptive
• Attempt to hack, overload, scrape, or disrupt the Service or its servers
• Use automated bots or scripts to send excessive or abusive requests
• Reproduce, copy, or resell reeldown's own brand, interface, or underlying code

Breaking these rules may result in your access being blocked, and in serious cases, may carry legal consequences.

While we don't own the content you download, we do own reeldown itself — our name, logo, design, layout, and original code are protected by copyright and other laws. Please don't copy, clone, or redistribute the reeldown product without our written permission.

We work hard to keep reeldown fast and reliable, but we offer it free of charge and "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. This includes (but isn't limited to):

• No guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available
• No guarantee of any specific video quality, resolution, or file format — that's determined by the original platform
• No guarantee that any particular link will successfully download

Platforms change their systems constantly, and that can affect what reeldown is able to fetch.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, reeldown and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, loss of profits, or any copyright issues created by a user's own actions.

Since reeldown is completely free, in no event will our total liability to you exceed the amount you paid to use it — which is zero.

reeldown works alongside third-party platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit, Vimeo, and Twitch. reeldown is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any of these companies.

Your use of reeldown to interact with content from these platforms is also subject to each platform's own terms of service. You're responsible for staying within those terms.

We reserve the right to improve, change, pause, or discontinue any part of reeldown at any time, without notice.

We may also update these Terms occasionally. When we do, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will change, and the new version takes effect as soon as it's posted. By continuing to use reeldown after an update, you're accepting the revised Terms — so it's worth a quick re-read now and then.

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of the operator's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be handled through the appropriate legal channels in that jurisdiction.
